While the Allstar Junior Golf Tour will do everything possible
to run a quality tournament, we must all remember that we have
applied the following set of guidelines for parents and
spectators to follow. Some reasons we have decided to impose
these guidelines is due to PARENTAL PRESSURE that can be
well-meant, however it often becomes unwanted pressure on the child.
Also, we like to point out that OVER-INVOLEMENT is a serious
issue in many golf tournaments. Parents often become over-involved
or protective. In both instances, the child never learns to be
responsible. It is also natural for parents to live vicariously
through the child, but when the parent’s goals and expectations
exceed the child’s, added pressure is inevitable.
Please note that parents/spectators agree to let participants
compete without giving any advice or counsel to them during the
stipulated round (USGA Rule 8-1), knowing that a violation may
cause a two-stroke penalty against their participant without warning.
- Spectator
carts are allowed (golf course permitting). All spectator
carts must stay on cart paths at all times.
- Parents/Spectators
that are walking are encouraged to stay on the cart path or
in the rough, at least 50 yards away from any competitors. Please
do not walk in the fairways.
- Parents/spectators cannot walk with
players during tournament play.
- Parents/spectators can
help look for lost balls, be a spotter and come up to the green
to watch when the players are putting.
- Parents/spectators
need to be aware of other players on the course. Do not lag
behind which prevents the group behind from playing their shots.
- Parents/spectators
are not to give rulings on the Rules of Golf. In stroke play,
when a player is in doubt to a rules situation, he/she may complete
the hole by playing a “second ball” and
report the facts to the Rules Committee before returning his/her
scorecard (USGA Rule 3-3)
- No mobile phones or beepers are permitted
on the golf course during the tournament rounds.
- Parents/spectators
can act as a forecaddie, carry umbrellas, jackets, food or drink,
etc. However, Parents/spectators are not permitted to talk to
any players during the stipulated round other than to suggest
the playing of a “second ball” if there
is a doubt as to procedure (USGA Rule 3-3)
- Please respect all host
facility's policies.
How to prepare for an Allstar Junior Golf Tour Tournament:
It is important to have a valid email on
file with the Allstar Junior Golf Tour to ensure receipt of your
tournament acceptance email. Tournament acceptance emails are sent
once a member has been accepted into an event and contain information
on courses played, approximate tees times, practice rounds, host
facility information.
Players are responsible for calling the host facility to schedule
a Friday practice round. Practice rounds are optional and fees
are not included in the entry fee. Please contact the course Pro
Shop for practice round information. You can find more information
including the phone numbers listed on the tournament
schedule page under Info & Apply Online.
You will be notified 1 week from the date of the tournament the
date, time, and location of the Player Registration/Meeting. Players
can pick up their gift packs, tee times, weekend schedule and local
rules sheet for the tournament at such time. Participants must
notify us at 419-957-4911 if they are unable to attend the Player
Registration/Meeting. The tee times and schedule sheets will be
available in the Pro Shop for those participants who can not attend.
Most of our courses offer complimentary range balls prior to
tournament rounds. You may have to pay a nominal fee for range
balls, depending on course location. You can find our more information
on the tournament schedule page under
Info & Apply Online.
After the completion of the first round, all competitors will be
regrouped by score for their next round. Second and/or final round
pairings will be available by 7:00pm Saturday and can be found
posted on the scoreboard, in the pro shop, and on our website www.allstarjuniorgolftour.com,
and at the host facility if available. It is the player's responsibility
to be at his/her respective tee at least 10 minutes prior to teeing
off. The penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at
the first hole or possible disqualification (USGA Rule 6-3). To
ensure this, we recommend that you always see your tee time in
black and white and if you still have questions, please contact
the Allstar Junior Golf Tour at 419-957-4911.
A suspension for a dangerous situation (i.e.: lightning or tornado)
shall be signaled by three short siren or horn blasts. Players
shall discontinue play immediately and seek shelter. Players will
be notified when it is safe to continue play.
